DELFA Systems consists of a diverse team dedicated to commercializing a new, innovative and unique technology. Each person in our team has specialized skills in different areas essential to our goals. This complimentary knowledge forms the foundation of our company. The idea for DELFA Systems started during the founders' doctorate, and the proposition developed into a successful project with the support of the Exist research transfer at Saarland University. It is now time to take the next step and establish ourselves in the industry.
Philipp has an extensive technical background and business knowledge. He performed his studies at the ASW and the HTW Saarland in "Engineering and Management" and continued with his doctorate in Systems Engineering at the University of Saarland. His vast experience as a project manager helps him coordinate and bring the team together. Together with Michael, he forms the management team and is responsible for the general management at DELFA Systems.

Michael has many years of experience in building operational business units in the industry as well as introducing new technologies. After completing his engineering studies in process technology, he gained initial experience with a medium-sized mechanical and plant engineering group before joining Nanogate, a spin-off of the Leibniz Institute for New Materials, in 2001. There, he accompanied the management until the end of 2019, in which he held responsibility for the entire Group, most recently with twelve production sites, as Chief Operating Officer (COO) after the IPO in 2006. Michael then expanded his expertise as Global Head of Operations in a medium-sized family-owned company in the plastics industry. As part of the management team, he brings this experience to bear and actively shapes the development of the company.

Our co-founder Steffen is the expert on all technology issues. During his doctorate at Saarland University, which followed his master's degree, he worked at the chair for intelligent material systems and took over the group management of DE technology there in 2017. In 2018 he completed his doctorate on application-oriented and high-performance DE drives. Due to his many years of experience as a process engineer at Infineon Technologies, he also has in-depth knowledge of product and process development in industry and is also responsible for technical sales.

Dennis completed his doctorate in inorganic solid-state chemistry, focused on synthesizing and analyzing functionalized silicones and custom modifying commercial systems. This experience qualifies him for process and material development and lifetime optimization of our drive and sensor elements. From initial functional tests to a finished product, Dennis accompanies the development of new systems through to the series production.

Lars is a qualified business economist and has been working as a freelance management consultant for over 10 years. His work focuses on marketing and corporate design for small businesses, craft businesses and start-ups. At Delfa Systems, he uses this experience and is responsible for the company's website, back office and accounting.
